Sustainability Focus in EU Research at Mitwill

As an SME, Mitwill has a small carbon imprint.  The Microfactory by Mitwill is undertaking investments to focus on digital pigment printing. This is the textile printing technology with the smallest environmental footprint, and the technology is making huge progress in terms of inks, colour results and handfeel.

As a European SME, Mitwill is taking part in European research projects that focus on circular fashion production.

HEREWEAR aims to create a European ecosystem for locally produced circular textiles and clothing made from bio-based resources. The role of Mitwill is to create garment prototypes for workwear based on the newly derived bio-based fabrics made from organic waste (straw, seaweed, etc).

PESCO-UP is a HORIZON Europe project that develops sustainable, economically viable processes for upcycling mixed polyester/cotton (PES/CO) textile waste into high-quality cotton and polyester products. By 2025, textile waste collection will be mandatory in EU member states. PESCO-UP aims to lead in transforming this societal challenge into a business opportunity.

S2G XR is a Mitwill-led EUROSTARS project funded by BPI France and the Wallonia Region in Belgium. Style to Garment Extended Reality is creating a matchmaking platform for fashion buyers and garment making SMEs displaying virtual showrooms in a 3D metaverse environment.
